property, but I think their behavior is irrational. There is a lot of
benefit that comes with fan sites -- people actually think about Star
Trek when they stumble across them and that's a benefit that allows them
to sell more tickets to movies, get higher ratings for their shows, and
sell more books. I can't comment on exactly what Paramount is doing, but
from what I gather people have crossed the line (posting the script to a
forthcoming movie is damaging to the property), so Paramount is crossing
the line farther than they probably should or need to do to make sure it
doesn't happen again. I can see their rationale, but it is a unfortunate
that it comes to this...
